“Workshop on Technical Writing and Research Management” on 2nd May 2023 for the research scholars of M.Phil and Ph.D.

Technical writing and research management skills play a vital role to gain excellence in research and development. In order to enhance the research productivity and uplifting the institutional ranking, there is need of capacity building of faculty through research management and commercialization support. In this context, an in-depth understanding of technical writings and research life cycle is of great significance. Keeping this in view, the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro organized a “Workshop on Technical Writing and Research Management” on 2nd May 2023 for the research scholars of M.Phil and Ph.D.

Prof. Dr. Farooq Anwar from University of Sargodha, Pakistan and Dr. Ahmad Haniff Jaafar from University Putra Malaysia, Malaysia were the resource persons of the Workshop. Both eminent and skilled scientists discussed comprehensively about how to improve writing skills and how to utilize writing tools effectively. A variety of scientific/technical writings such as original research article, review article, short communication, research synopsis, thesis, patent and book etc. were discussed and explained.

Prof. Dr. Farooq Anwar highlighted the importance of comprehensive literature survey and explained the structural composition of research and review articles to the research scholars. Dr. Ahmad Haniff Jaafar focused on designing of a research proposal and ways to accomplish it. The workshop provided an opportunity to young researchers and faculty to improve their technical writing and project management skills.
