Professor Dr. Syed Tufail Hussain Shah, Director National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro along with Associate Professor Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Mahesar and Associate Professor Dr. Ayaz Ali Memon participated in the Training Workshop on "Awareness & Implementation of ISO/IEC/17025/2017 for Testing Laboratories". The training was organized by International Trade Centre in collaboration with Sindh Food Authority at Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi on May 24-25, 2024. The Director General of the Sindh Food Authority and Professor Dr. Syed Tufail Hussain Shah distributed certificates to participants who successfully completed specialized training on "Measurements of Uncertainty and Method Validation ". This meticulously crafted program aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of key concepts and practices essential for compliance with ISO-17025, a globally recognized standard for laboratory competence. The training program focused on two pivotal components of ISO-17025: measurement of uncertainty and method validation. It began with an overview of the standard, followed by an in-depth exploration of measurement uncertainty, its significance, sources, and methods for quantification, including building an uncertainty budget and effectively documenting and reporting uncertainties. The program also covered method validation, ensuring laboratory methods are accurate, reliable, and suitable for their intended purposes..

This comprehensive training equipped participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to implement and maintain ISO-17025 requirements in their laboratories. The successful completion of this program signifies their commitment to upholding high standards of laboratory competence and reliability.
